Free Family History Record Keeping Software

There are 3 major personal record keeping software applications that are FREE to download and store your own family history records in. This is much like the old PAF program, EXCEPT that you can synchronize information between FamilySearch and the application. The free versions are probably going to have most of the basic functionality you will need. The PAID versions will have other features like the ability to print out reports, etc. Download the FREE software versions and play with them to see which has the layout, features, ease of use for you that appeal to you.

There are a variety of software applications that utilize your FamilySearch pedigree information to help you visually find or see family information in a different light. The following below are but a few of them available to use.

FamilySearch Partnership Databases

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have free subscriptions to a variety of partnership family history databases. Subscriptions to Ancestry, Findmypast, MyHeritage, American Ancestors, and Geneanet are available. Each of these different databases will contain different types of records, and also world locations. Cemetery Sites to Explore

Find-A-Grave and BillionGraves are great websites to find your ancestors in cemeteries all over the world. Photographs of the headstones are almost always present, but often patrons have posted links to the deceased's family members, photographs, and even some stories as well.

Both your local Family History Centers and also the FamilySearch Libraries will have additional premium access to sites like Ancestry, Fold3, and others that you can access while in their facilities.
