There are 3 major personal record keeping software applications that are FREE to download and store your own family history records in. This is much like the old PAF program, EXCEPT that you can synchronize information between FamilySearch and the application. The free versions are probably going to have most of the basic functionality you will need. The PAID versions will have other features like the ability to print out reports, etc. Download the FREE software versions and play with them to see which has the layout, features, ease of use for you that appeal to you.

Subscriptions to Ancestry, Findmypast, MyHeritage, American Ancestors, and Geneanet are available. Each of these different databases will contain different types of records, and also world locations.
